Chartered Building Surveyor

I am a Chartered Building Surveyor with over a decade of experience across a range of building surveying roles, including seven years providing building surveying services within residential block management.

 

After graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying in 2014, I began my career working within specialist damp and defect investigation. I subsequently spent seven years working as a Building Surveyor within a residential managing agent environment, before moving into the NHS, where I continued my career in building surveying and project delivery.

 

I established Andrew Witcomb Building Surveying to provide independent, specialist building surveying support to managing agents, freeholders and residential management companies, focusing initially on Reinstatement Cost Assessments, planned maintenance schedules and building defect investigations.

Building Surveying with a Block Management Perspective

My seven years working within a managing agent environment gave me first-hand understanding of the practical requirements placed on property managers and their clients.

 

During this time, I undertook the types of instructions I now specialise in, including Reinstatement Cost Assessments, planned maintenance schedules and building defect investigations.

 

This experience continues to influence the way I approach instructions today. My aim is to provide advice that is technically sound, clearly communicated and practical for property managers and their clients to act upon.

Broader Experience

Building Pathology

My early career in specialist damp and defect investigation provided a strong grounding in building pathology, moisture-related defects and the practical investigation of building problems.

NHS

More recently, my work within the NHS provided broader experience and management of capital projects within a large and professionally managed estate.

Direct access to your Building Surveyor

Andrew Witcomb Building Surveying is an independent practice. Clients deal directly with me throughout the instruction, from the initial enquiry and inspection through to reporting and subsequent discussion.

This provides continuity throughout the instruction and ensures that the Chartered Building Surveyor undertaking the inspection remains directly involved in the advice provided.
